The musical departments specializes in:

Instrumental performing:

• piano

• orchestra string instruments (violin, viola, cello, double-bass)

• orchestra wind instruments (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussions)

• folk instruments (domra, balalaika, guitar, bayan, accordion).

Choir conducting:

• academic choir conducting

• folk choir conducting

Singing:

• academic singing

Musicology and Composition 

The theatre departments offers training within the following subfields:

• drama theatre and cinema actor

• musical theatre actor

Tuition: full-time and correspondence.

Solo singing, composition, acting – only full-time tuition.

There is tuition fee for those applicants who enter the Academy on the contractual basis. 

Term of study at the musical department is 5 years, at the theatre one – 4 years.

The graduates of the Academy get certificates of higher education of the common state pattern.

All documents should be submitted until the following deadlines: June 15 to July 15.

Competitive entrance examinations are held from July 6 to July 20, according to the rules common for all higher educational institutions of Russia.

Entrance examinations at the instrumental performing, singing, conducting departments – audition in speciality, colloquium (oral and written), test in the Russian language (written); at the composition department - audition in speciality, written test in speciality, colloquium (oral), test in the Russian language (written); at the musicology department - audition in speciality (oral and written), colloquium (oral), test in the Russian language (written); at the theatre department - audition in speciality, test in the Russian language (written).

Tuition fee for those entering the Academy on the contractual basis - $500-1000 per year (depends on the form of tuition, full-time or by correspondence).

The Academy has no military-training department.

While studying at the Academy students are not called up for military service.

Preparatory courses for entering the singing department – 2 years.

Admission to the full-time tuition is available for persons under 35 years old (to the singing department – under 25).

Tuition by correspondence has no age limit.

Citizens of other countries study at the Academy on the International Agreements and Contracts, with obligatory tuition fee.

The Academy has a lyceum for musically gifted children.

The Academy library and the record library are regularly enlarging their stocks.

There is a student hostel, gymnasium, some buffets at the Academy.
